Janelle Lazo Tee of Pasig City is Miss Philippines Earth 2019!

TV host Janelle Tee of Pasig City was named Miss Philippines Earth 2019 pageant during the pageant's coronation night held Wednesday at Okada Manila, Parañaque.

She was crowned the winner after arguing that a better way to encourage more people to become more environmentally conscious is to give "incentives" rather than penalize violators.

In the Q&A round, Tee explained: "We have to teach [communities that need help] how to fish rather than just give them a fish for a day. Because if we teach them how to fish, it would become their living."

According to her profile on the Miss Philippines Earth 2019 website, Tee was born in Davao. Her professional career includes hosting stints for ANC's "Chinoy TV" and the GMA-7 game show "Wowowin."

Her main advocacy is to promote eco-tourism, which is consistent with her Q&A round speech, saying that this would lead to "inclusive growth in each and every community" in the country.

Miss Philippines Earth 2018 Celeste Cortesi crowned her successor on Wednesday, July 10 at The Cove, Okada Manila.

The winners of the other major titles are:

Miss Philippines Air: Ana Monica Tan, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental
Miss Philippines Fire: Alexandra Dayrit, Marikina City
Miss Philippines Water: Chelsea Fernandez, Tacloban City
Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism: Karen Nicole Piccio, Maasin, Iloilo
