“To answer questions of suspension of work and schools… our expert advisory group will meet with the DOLE, Civil Service Commission, and Department of Education and issue recommendation,” DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III said in a press briefing.

According to Duque, this recommendation will be ratified by the inter-agency task force at 5 p.m.

Last week, DOLE called on employers to adopt flexible arrangements for their workers in light of the COVID-19 threat.

DOLE issued Department Advisory No. 01 series of 2020 or the “Guidelines on the Implementation of Flexible Work Arrangement as Remedial Measure due to the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19.”

On Sunday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country climbed from six to ten.

On Saturday, Taguig-based consultancy and financial advisory firm Deloitte Philippines confirmed that one of its employees has tested positive for COVID-19.

The company said it continues to comply with instructions and directions from the DOH.
